IT and critical response activity

During the times of critical response, Xerox have techs to come out and repair systems set up for different businesses. Knowledge of this information and technology is critical in keeping their response team on top.  They have been previously known for their service call response time and quality of service. Currently they are finding ways of learning how to keep these response times as close to quota.

IT's role in busines technology pressures

IT plays a role in business technology by serving as a measure of what is to be expected in the industry.  There have been concerns about rather or not Xerox will survive the new age of technology. With electronic signatures, fax, and other ways business can be done without the use of white papers, Xerox must find ways to stay in the game by offering services and products that their customers need. They have expanded their market far beyond copiers, printers, and fax machines, but have developed products and service that compete with the way business is done today.

Xerox response strategies

Some of the response strategies for Xerox were to develop new ideas and offering to their customers. A diverse product line would allow for an expansion in their customer base. Expanding industry involvement allows for Xerox to take advantage of sales opportunities, therefore increasing revenue. To sum it up, "We operate in over 160 countries worldwide. We provide the industry’s broadest portfolio of document technology, services and software, and the most diverse array of
business processes and IT outsourcing support through a variety of distribution channels around the world." (Xerox, 2011)

Identify multiple business pressures on Xerox.

Xerox has experienced multiple business pressures over the years. One important pressure includes equipment sales, which has fluctuated over the years. Based on the last few annual reports, equipment sales have been something the company's had struggles with. Other pressures include diversifying offerings of goods and services. Xerox's main challenge is keeping up with a green, paperless, highly technological society and its continual change.
